Spotted the Jack Purcell Mid last year. Looked great in Rusty [brown] colourway.

Did a bit of searching, found it to be available in Singapore, S$120 pricing was a little high though. Didn't really pursue it further then.
Fast forward to recently, when I wrote a Facebook message to Converse Singapore to ask which store would this model be available at. Prior to the query, I had visited the Vivocity and Compasspoint branches, but didn't see this model. After a bit of to-and-fro, off I went to IMM, to the Converse Outlet store there.
Was glad to see it available at a discounted price of S$79.90. Tried my usual US Size 10, which was a little tight, then Size 11, which was better.

Google-d on lacing to find suitable lacing [selected the Over Under Lacing method]
http://www.fieggen.com/shoelace/lacingmethods.htm
The shoes feel a little floppy, but that also means they are not stiff, so no need for a wear-in period. Arch support is minimal, with the insole looking like a cork material. Too bad there isn't a Size 10.5 [half sizes are available from Size 10 and below], Size 11 is a little large, but should be ok if I lace the shoe tighter.
Oops, almost forgot why I chose this shoe. Stopped wearing my Cat Davis boots a while ago, due to me wearing out the heel portion of the soles [bad walking style]. So have been on the lookout for versatile brown leather boots for daily wear. The mid brown colour can be matched with various shades of trousers [in fact, almost all my trousers], and the gum colour toe & sole make it less casual and less sneaker-like [as compared to the typical white toe & sole of Chucks or Jack Purcells]. The waxed round laces [as compared to the typical white flat laces] also help make the shoe more "smart-casual".
p.s. spotted some nice deals at the IMM Outlet stores; Puma sling bag: $19, Espirit leather wallet: $45; will visit again.
